The Newest Debate Division: "Public Forum Debate"

"Public Forum Debate" uses current controversial topics suitable for public forum debate. Research can be accomplished by reading newspapers and magazines and by regular Internet searches.

A round between teams from White River and Faulkton could go as follows:

White River wins the coin flip, chooses the negative/con side; Faulkton chooses to speak last

Speech by White River Speaker #1   4 minutes
Speech by Faulkton Speaker #1   4 minutes
Crossfire (Q&A between White River #1 and Faulkton #1)   3 minutes
Speech by White River Speaker #2   4 minutes
Speech by Faulkton Speaker #2   4 minutes
Crossfire (Q&A between White River #2 and Faulkton #2)   3 minutes
Summary speech by White River Speaker #1   2 minutes
Summary speech by Faulkton Speaker #1   2 minutes
Grand Crossfire (all speakers!)   3 minutes

(2 minutes preparation time for each team = 33 minutes total time for one round)
